Log in and Navigate to the Registration System 

  1. Log in to Yale Hub.
  2. Locate the Registration Resources module.
  3. Select the Self-Service Registration System link under Helpful Links.
  4. Select Register for Classes.
  5. Choose the desired term, then select Continue.

Find Classes

The Find Classes tab opens a Search Criteria Box, select a School first, then select or type a subject to see all offerings from a specific department (such as CHEM).

  • Some fields give the choice to type and search or select from a drop-down list. 
  • Some fields display a tip box after you have selected an option.
  • Some fields display information if you hover the mouse over it.
  • Search results are narrower the more search criteria you use.

Click Search after entering search criteria.

Add Classes to Your Schedule

1. Click Add to add a a class to your schedule. Take note of any warnings (such as enrollment restrictions).

  • Click the class title to see a pop-up box with more details.
  • Pay attention to the Status column for enrollment information.

2. Continue to add courses to complete your registration. Review your worksheet.

  • When you add classes to your schedule, a panel expands from the bottom of the screen.
  • Any actions—including registering, requesting instructor permission, waitlisting, dropping courses, etc.—are not complete until you click Submit in the bottom right corner. Instructor permission and waitlisting require subsequent action.

3. Click Submit as you add classes to determine if further action is needed.

4. Review the Status and Action columns for each class.

Search Results Tips

  • Click Search Again at the top right of the Search Results screen to change your search criteria.
  • Click a column header to sort the results accordingly. Wait a moment for the screen to change.
  • If information in a cell is cut off, hover your pointer in a cell to see a pop-up box with the full information.
Hub Status and Action columns

Status column

You cannot register for the course. If you want to remove this course from your schedule, click Remove in the Action column and then click Submit.

See the link at the top of the list of courses and follow the directions. Once approved, return to the Summary screen to add the class to your schedule. See How to Request Instructor Permission.

Displays if you are allowed to register for the class. You must click Submit to complete registration.

You have successfully registered for the class.

Action column

Select this option to drop a class for which you have already registered. See How to drop a Class.

Select this option to remove a class from your schedule for which you are not yet registered.

Select this option to register for the target class. This option is only available for classes that will allow your registration, including when instructor permission is needed. You must click Submit to complete the registration process.

Select this option to be added to the class’s wait list. This option is only available if a class is already full and waitlisting is allowed. This does require further action if a seat on the wait list opens.

Review and Submit your Worksheet to Complete Registration

After you have successfully registered for all your classes, Registered appears in the Status column. By the close of registration, be sure you have resolved instructor permission or waitlist pending issues.
